The Monthly Covered Dish Meal and
Program This is what we call the L.L.L. The
third Tuesday of each month men and women, as well as our
church staff and guests enjoy a great meal, fellowship and a
short program. With the exception of our Worship Services,
this is the largest gathering in one place of our Senior
Adults each month. Attendance at L.L.L. consistently runs
between 60 and 75.
L.L.L. stands for Live, Love, and
Laugh. The Senior Adults of our church
fellowship have a reason for living. It is "Because He lives"
as the hymn text states. Love is characteristic of the
Christian life. The Scripture tells us that "God so loved the
world". Our Senior Adults enjoy laughing as we get together
for shared life experiences.
Senior Adults are an important part
of our church membership. Approximately 20%
of North Greenwood's membership are men and women over the age
of 65. Many of them are charter members of our church, which
celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, 2005.
Senior Adults have important
leadership places at NGBC Senior Adults have
important leadership places in the life of our church. These
places include Deacons, Sunday School teachers, committee
members, and church staff positions.
Senior Adults take part in
missions. Through our L.L.L. we contribute
funds for special mission projects in which our church members
are involved. Each Thanksgiving season our L.L.L. assembles
and distributes fruit baskets to our shut-ins. A number of our
Senior Adult women are part of the church's Women's Missionary
Circle.
We love to take
trips. Our Senior Adults enjoy short trips
to enjoy meals, shopping and attending special programs of
music as well as Senior Adult Rallys together in neighboring
towns.
Bible Study in our Sunday School
Classes Bible Study is an enriching part of
our Senior Adult Ministry. We have several women's classes,
one men's class, and also co-ed classes that meet each Sunday
morning.
