The Student Ministry Mission Statement
Our Student Ministry exists to reach students, to connect them with God and each other, to help them
grow in their faith, and to challenge the students to offer themselves in service and to honor God in and through their life. Come and join us; we'd love to have you!
Community and World Connections
Life is fun and here at North Greenwood Baptist Church we like to have as much fun as possible. Life is also meaningless without purpose and hope. Jesus Christ is
the only One who can offer real life. In fact He called it abundant life in John 10:10 and that is not just for Heaven. It is for everyone right now.
God the Father has given us instructions for living and a great deal of real life comes from serving others. So one of the objectives of the Student Ministry of NGBC is to help others
while spreading the message of the Gospel. Some of the activities we are involved in are the Canned Food Drive that serves our community, the Shoe Box Christmas,
providing gifts at Christmas for children over seas, and the 30 Hour Famine helping to raise money for world hunger.
The student ministry also provides the opportunity to go on a mission trip in the United States every other summer. The Church sponsors an International Mission Trip to Belize, South
America each year in February. There are many different ways we can make a difference in this world as Christians and we are always looking for new ways to serve Him.

The two sections of scripture below gives the answer to What and Why we do what we do.
Matthew 28:19-20 "The Great Commission"
19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
20. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 22:37-40 "The Great Commandment"
37. Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38. This is the first and greatest commandment.
39. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
40. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
The 5 Elements of a well rounded Christian
1. Evangelism = Reach
2. Fellowship = Connect
3. Discipleship = Grow
4. Ministry = Service
5. Worship = Honor

I hope that by reading this site you can catch a little of the vision that we have here at the Big House. My greatest desire
in life is to love God and to serve Him through Student Ministry. I believe that God works very powerfully in the hearts of teenagers and through their lives. I invite you
to KNOW God in a personal way and to be a part of what God is doing here at North Greenwood. If you have any questions give me, Ricky Wheat, a call on my cell 662-392-Rick(7425) or at home (662-453-6151) anytime.
Student Activities
We have been known to do other activities such as paintball, softball, swimming, movies, Shelter Shade and Refuge, Student Life, bowling, fundraisers, SNAC, lock-ins, 5th quarters,
Hayride, Student Day, concerts, water park, FAITH, VBS, The Web, See You At The Pole, Senior Recognition, Senior Trip and senior breakfast. The list could go on and on. There is
always something for somebody.
Camp, Retreat and Trips
We take three or four major trips each year. This includes spring break, summer camp and fall retreat. These are also the most expensive trips. The Spring Breakaway is a purely fun trip.
We have been to places like Florida, Colorado and Texas. Summer Camps are a time for spiritual growth through worship, activities, Bible study and missions. The camps also vary from year
to year. Fall Retreat takes place during the school year and is located at Lake Forest Ranch. It is a weekend getaway. No matter where we go we like to have fun!
